Metrology & Traceability Assurance
TraceGauge can record the evidence used to establish metrological traceability; the database itself does not create traceability.
Records supported
- As-Found and As-Left measurements
- Multiple test points and acceptance limits
- Reference/master standard IDs and status
- Calibration laboratory and accreditation information
- Measurement uncertainty and decision rules
- Environmental conditions
- Technician/reviewer approvals
- OOT investigation and product-impact assessment
Traceability boundary
An unbroken traceability chain requires competent calibration activities, valid reference-standard certificates, uncertainty appropriate to the intended measurement, and traceability to SI or another accepted reference. TraceGauge is a recordkeeping/control system for that evidence.
External certificates
Qualification should verify that records link the actual certificate/evidence for standards used, including certificate number, laboratory, dates, uncertainty and scope where required.
Certificate meaning
A TraceGauge-generated PDF is a controlled software output. It is not, solely by being generated, proof that a measurement is ISO/IEC 17025 accredited or SI-traceable.
